The book gives excellent examples to help an organization think through their information system and to think of it as a process that can be improved to meet customer (internal and external) satisfactions.

Too simple for the topic

I was excited to see a book on documentation and made the mistake of ordering it without seeing a few reviews from other readers. 68 pages is barely enough for a couple of chapters, certainly not enough for a $20 book. Save your money and wait for a better book to come out, or read "Business Process Improvement Workbook" from Harrington, Esseling and Nimwegen which I would give 5 stars. This is the most disappointing business book I have ever purchased.

involving women is vital

The articles in the book draw on the Indian context of development. Mostly about female participation in the process. An idea is that for effective addressing of women's interests, an active involvement by them is vital.

One article discusses female inventors. Statistics from the US Patent and Trademark Office are quoted that show impressive gains since a century ago. But still only a few percent of inventors are women. This describing of patents is in the framework of considering knowledge as power. PTO data is useful as it easily provides reliable metrics of change. Instead of just having a general discourse with no hard numbers of participation.
